Iris Prolapse

Acondition wherein the iris, the colored part of the eye responsible for controlling the amount of light entering the eye, protrudes out through a surgical wound or a traumatic wound in the cornea or sclera. This condition often arises as a complication during or after intraocular surgery, or following a traumatic injury to the eye.
