Anterior chamber paracentesis (ACP)

is a surgical procedure done to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) of the eye. The procedure is used in management of glaucoma and uveitis. It is also used for clinical diagnosis of infectious uveitis It involves creating a small incision in the cornea to drain fluid from the anterior chamber of the eye. This procedure is typically used to:- Reduce intraocular pressure in conditions like acute angle-closure glaucoma.- Diagnose infectious uveitis by collecting aqueous humor for laboratory analysis.- Manage complications after certain eye surgeries or treatments.
